soap + solidarity

$8.25

The Land (al-Ard; الأرض)

Pure olive oil soap, made using traditional methods by the Sabane Beita Women’s Development Society, a women’s soapmaking cooperative just south of Nablus, in Palestine.

Cooked in the traditional style out of olive oil, water, and soda, resulting in a soda-less bar of pure saponified olive oil. This bar has a very creamy lather (not sudsy like many commercial bar soaps), which I find to be very gentle on the skin. I even use it on my face. The soap has a very delicate scent of olive oil, but no added fragrance. You can see a video the soap being made, here. I’m honored to be able to help share and uplift this beautifully sustainable artistry.

I will not be keeping any funds from the sale of this soap, all revenues will be sent directly to a network of mutual aid funds in Palestine to help support the needs of ordinary people there during this devastating time. Thank you for being a part of this effort with me!
